PATRICK Ben David and his team of three talking heads plus a online researcher at Valuetainment may have come up with a plausible explanation for the “great drone mystery”.
Initially Ben David and company asked the obvious question: Why are the US defence and intel agencies so apparently dumbstruck about the source of the drones, and why have they not acted since at least a month ago (November 18th was the first reported sighting in New Jersey) to identify and intercept the drones?
Those drones were initially spotted near the Picatinny Arsenal, a US military research and manufacturing facility – another reason for US intel agencies should have acted quickly to head off an obvious threat of some sort. But it was “ho hum … just a few unidentified drones hanging around a defence facility”.
The PBD team had another glaringly obvious question: Why would a “foreign drone” be hovering over President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster Golf Course? Scoping out a good spot for the next hit job perhaps? Or were they “just sending a message?”
“Why do you think they’re above Bedminster? Do you think this is a famous golfer who’s trying to improve their golf skills because they want to build a better golf course than the one at Bedminster?” he asked sarcastically. Referring to the “Iranian video” he speculated that this was some type of of warning.
PBD partner Tom Ellsworth, when asked by Ben David, estimated that Trump would play at Bedminster probably 25 times a year for the next four years. Ben David then showed part of an apparently Iranian-produced video (11min 40s mark) released two years ago showing a small, apparently armed electric vehicle entering the golf course and taking video of Trump playing there.
So was Ben David, who is Iranian by lineage, running with the “Iran mothership” narrative? Not necessarily because his next question was “When did Chris Wray (the FBI Director) resign? Yesterday,” he said. “He allowed someone to go through Melania’s drawer in Mar a Lago, even though Trump was working with them to get the files back, they went in an embarrassed him …
“While they’re doing all that stuff investigating him, nothing with Joe, nothing with the (Hunter Biden) laptop, nothing with anybody … and then you’re doing this (neglecting a national security investigation) at this time with Iran getting $10 billion…? What the hell is going on here!”
Mocking, Ben David added: “By the way, this is the part where they ask the question and say ‘Are you going to do anything to have a revenge on these guys, are you?”
So Ben David, without saying it, is basically suggesting the Biden administration’s intel apparatus is running this “drone event” with two objectives – starting a direct attack on Iran (extending the WW3 battlefronts) and threatening the safety of the President-elect himself.
Alex Jones was pushing another angle – that the drones were “sniffing” out radiation from a suspected “suitcase” nuke that had been smuggled into the US. But this story reeks of fear mongering and it has been done before.
Another story was that Iran had developed highly advanced drones with China and that these were being tested out on the US as a warning. The small, autonomous electric vehicle that invaded Bedminster Golf Course would seem to support this narrative.
However, as noted by Ben David team member Adam Sosnick, Iran is the biggest loser of the year with Assad’s fall. He says their decades of work funding Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis has basically failed and the country’s misery index is one of the highest in the world. This cast doubt on the country’s ability to launch such an attack.
Ben David also related the incident to US politicians drawing up laws to prohibit the creation of AI deep fakes. But he came back to his main point: “You tell me, Left, Right, Centre wherever you are, I want one person to tell me a good argument on why you’re OK with the drones being up there and the US government telling us they don’t know what it is and they’re not shooting those things down.
“Tell me one person – aside from safety reasons because I agree with you on where it crashes – aside form that give me one reason why those drones shouldn’t be shot down. Why not?” he said, adding that he didn’t believe anyone had such a reason. “What the hell are you waiting for?” he asked, referring to President Biden and VP Harris.
