Was Fedorov a rival inside Zelensky’s government?

It’s been 17 days since Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky fired his ‘reformist’ young defense minister Mikhaylo Fedorov, leading a mass of mostly young Ukrainians to protest for his re-installment.

Since then, Zelensky has fired commander-in-chief Sergey Syrsky, but that has not managed to calm down the daily protests in downtown Kiev.

Reuters reported:

“Several thousand Ukrainians rallied through central Kyiv on Friday, signaling to President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that opposition to his decision to oust Defense ‌Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, widely credited with driving military innovation during Ukraine’s war with Russia, remains strong.

Fedorov, who only took charge of the wartime ministry in January, was dismissed in a surprise and poorly explained government reshuffle in mid-July.

[…] Speculation grew that Fedorov was forced out because of efforts to tackle alleged corruption in the defense sector. Fedorov appeared to lend weight to those claims in a recent interview, though he provided no details.

On Friday, aiming to draw the president’s attention, protesters marched through Kyiv’s historical center, until the crowd poured into Khreshchatyk, the heart of the Ukrainian capital.”

In the meantime, Ukrainian sources are reporting that Zelensky dismissed Fedorov because the ex-Ukrainian Defense Minister was planning a presidential campaign.

Slavyansk on Telegram:

“Journalist Vladimir Boyko reports that Fedorov held meetings discussing participation of grant structures in his future political campaign. The event was allegedly recorded, and the materials were passed to Zelensky. During the meeting, they discussed involving ‘sorosyata’ in Fedorov’s campaign and toasted the ‘seventh president of Ukraine Mikhail Albertovich [Fedorov]’.”
