Speaker Johnson calls for Epstein transparency then blocks release

Speaker Mike Johnson went on record this week saying he supports Ghislaine Maxwell testifying before Congress and wants “everything released” on Epstein. That quote came from his interview with Benny Johnson, released Tuesday afternoon. The timing wasn’t subtle. Just hours earlier, Johnson had voted to block a procedural motion that would have forced a House vote on releasing the Epstein files. The motion was backed by Democrats and a handful of Republicans. It failed by a single vote.
