PROMETHEAN Action has posted another update on what they have been describing as President Donald Trump’s war on the City of London and its proxy regimes including Iran.
It features an insert video of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio defending the nation state and nationalism, and obviously, the United States in particular. It has been unheard of for decades for a US Secretary of State to enter into such a dialogue.
As noted quite matter-of-factly by Rubio, former administrations since the Cold War era had mistakenly bought into the idea that industry’s location didn’t really matter, and as long as something could be made more efficiently and cheaper elsewhere, consumers and business would benefit.
“The result of it was that it deindustrialised America,” Rubio told a Washington function launching an organisation called The Foundry School, to build the workforce behind Trump’s plan to rebuild US manufacturing..
Could Australia take a lesson here, as the country is about to witness the permanent closure of the core blast furnace (Blast Furnace No. 2) at Whyalla Steelworks in South Australia. Some 600 workers at the plant face redundancy.
The blast furnace closure will halt raw steelmaking operations at the site, our largest manufacturer of structural steel and sole producer of rail lines and structural long steel, in favour of a hare-brained scheme to make “green (low carbon) steel”.
No doubt the smiling Chairman Xi’s friendly steelworks at any number of locations will be only too happy to provide Comrade Albanese’s little island nation the shortfall – at the right price to undercut Australia’s expensive “green steel”.
“We lost our ability to make things,” said Rubio. “… even some of the most basic components that are necessary, the underpin economic life, especially in the 21st Century.
“We woke up to the reality, just a few years ago, that we are as a nation dangerously dependent on other nations for all sorts of things we need not simply for our economic vibrancy, but for our national security and survival as a prosperous nation state.” Hello Australia?
Meanwhile the Promethean team focused on Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s press conference at the G20, hosted this time by the US at Asheville, North Carolina, but different to anything we’ve seen in the past, noted Susan Kokinda, because the US is in charge of the guest list, which includes a Russian representative, and is setting a different agenda.
On Bessent’s campaign to shut down shadow Iranian financial transactions at various banks, Kokinda said they had been alerted in the comments section that Lloyds of London was a major shareholder in Iran’s Bank Melli.
Bessent ‘s banking campaign is called Operation Economic Outcast, and the “kenetic side” of this was the first direct hit on British offshore operations – the Gambia-flagged tanker TELA, carrying alleged Iranian crude, owned by London’s Estanica Trading Ltd. French and Swiss firms were named too.
