DIICOT, Romania’s law enforcement agency tasked with investigating and prosecuting organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime, financial crimes, and terrorism-related offenses, and national police ambushed Călin Georgescu in traffic before 7 a.m. Monday in Bucharest.
According to reports from the European press, authorities yanked him from the car with his son Petru still inside and raced both to the family house in Mogoșoaian. Masked police units then smashed the front door with a ram while Cristela Georgescu and their youngest boy Pavel stood inside getting ready for school. The raid dragged on for nine hours.
Officers hit five addresses that morning in Bucharest, Mogoșoaia, Ciolpani and Buftea.
They filmed themselves storming the property and claimed they found €5,000. Georgescu was then hauled to DIICOT headquarters, then marched out in handcuffs that evening. He spent the night in Bucharest’s central jail.

Prosecutors now demand 30 days of preventive lock-up. The regime accuses him of running an organized crime group and committing fraud with particularly serious consequences. The story they suddenly revived claims he and two others posed as foreign money men in 2021.
They supposedly promised businessman Răzvan Leu fat Swiss loans in return for cash guarantees. Leu handed over more than €1.1 million. The loans never came. Sources name Ionel Rusen and Italian Massimiliano Arena as the other two.

Prosecutors claim that some of the cash later helped fund Georgescu’s 2024 campaign. The complaint has gathered dust since early 2024. The globalist machine pulled it out this week, five years after the alleged events, because they needed a fresh club.
This is Georgescu’s third live file. One charges him with helping plot against the constitutional order alongside Horațiu Potra and twenty others.That case opened its first hearing on 9 September. Georgescu stayed away.
The next date is 28 September. A second file slaps him with legionary propaganda.Georgescu crushed the first round of the 2024 presidential election on a hard anti-globalist platform. The Constitutional Court then cancelled the result after intelligence services peddled claims of a Russian online campaign.
They never showed the public any evidence that settled the argument. Ordinary Romanians still call it a stitch-up. The Dan-Bolojan government sits on that stolen vote and therefore holds little to no democratic legitimacy.
AUR leader George Simion hit back within hours of the raid. “Any of us could be next. Stop the abuses! Romania is a dictatorship!!!!” The raid landed on Simion’s 40th birthday. Nicușor Dan was posing in New York the same day while his thugs sent masked gunmen after the man who actually won an election.

The latest CURS trust polls still put Georgescu first among all politicians. In July he led with 33 percent, ahead of Nicușor Dan at 30 percent and George Simion at 24 percent. Later CURS figures put him near 40 percent. He remains the most popular politician in the country.
AUR owns the party race. INSCOP’s 1–7 September barometer gives George Simion’s party 39.7 percent of voting intention, 40.2 percent among people who say they will definitely vote.That is a 21-point lead over PSD at 18.7 percent and more than 23 points over
Globalist PNL at 16.3 percent. Globalist USR sits at 9 percent. AUR is larger than PSD and PNL put together. The lead is not a one-month freak. INSCOP has had AUR locked between 37 and 41 percent for a year, including 40.9 percent in January and 38.2 percent in May. CURS in July still had AUR first at 34 percent.
The parallel state needed a spectacle because it cannot beat AUR at the ballot box. Nicușor Dan’s own 2025 campaign burned through 13.7 to 14 million euros, much of it raised from hundreds of anonymous lenders. He still hides those names.
The dawn operation copies the Mar-a-Lago raid almost beat for beat. Armed agents hit a political rival’s home, rummaged through private rooms, and then paraded the target as a criminal on television.
In Florida the FBI later faced exposure, firings, and a backlash that helped return Donald Trump to power. Bucharest prosecutors are running the same script and expecting a different ending. Romanians remember the Soviet occupation and Ceaușescu’s Securitate.
The less than legitimate globalist regime that cancelled a free election now treats its winner like a criminal. It answers the people’s vote with rams, pistols and handcuffs.
The Trump White House is watching this closely. Washington has seen elections decided in courtrooms and jail cells before.
The arrest and detention of Georgescu comes after a shepherds’ and farmers’ rally in Piața Victoriei last week turned into a street fight after the crowd pushed gendarme lines on Kiseleff and chanted “Turul 2 înapoi” and “Călin Georgescu președinte.”
Riot police answered with tear gas, rubber batons and shield charges, dragged dozens behind the cordon and hauled about 47 people to police stations; official tallies also listed 10 injured gendarmes, damaged vans and later criminal files for outrage and public disorder.
The government called the violence the work of “infiltrators,” but video from the square shows baton blows, gas clouds and protesters being pulled out of the crowd in front of the same palace that cancelled the 2024 vote.
