Rain dampened the numbers at Cairns rally but not the spirit

Rain and a sea of umbrellas didn’t prevent Cairns people of all ages from turning up at the Esplanade to rally against government corruption today.

Nearly 600 braved wet conditions to let federal and state governments know they have had enough of corruption, mass immigration, taxes upon taxes, digital ID, unaffordable power bills and juvenile crime without consequences.

Madison Currier, 30, said people of her age were greatly concerned about the direction in which Labor is taking the country

Much to the crowd’s surprise, key speaker and One Nation FNQ spokeswoman Geena Court said local police told her they fully supported the rally and its objectives. Three police officers were in attendance at the well-behaved gathering.

“The LNP’s adult crime, adult time slogan is a scam, and police are frustrated that young offenders are not placed in detention,” Geena told an agreeable audience.

“I have attended the Magistrates Court with its revolving door and these young criminals are back on the street, some to be re-arrested the same day after a court appearance.” she said.

A major nationwide rally has been planned for November 29 and Geena pointed out if every person in attendance brought another 10 to the upcoming rally, Labor and Liberal would not be able to ignore the groundswell of public opposition to the political party duopoly.

Unfortunately it seems few of the rallies have called for a double dissolution of parliament or a vote of no confidence in PM Albanese and Labor.
