The 10-hour video shows activity outside Epstein’s cell from late evening through early morning. But at exactly 11:58:59 PM, the timestamp jumps to 12:00:00 AM. One full minute of footage is absent. DOJ officials claim the gap is due to an outdated surveillance system that resets daily at midnight, leaving a 60-second void in each day’s recording. That technical note has triggered a wave of backlash online and reignited speculation about Epstein’s death, which DOJ insists was suicide.
Bongino previously touted the video as definitive proof. Now, with the missing minute confirmed and the footage itself modified, he’s under scrutiny. Bondi’s credibility collapsed days earlier when she reversed her public claim that the Epstein client list was sitting on her desk. The memo released by DOJ declared no list exists, no evidence of blackmail was found, and no third parties were criminally implicated.
That memo also confirmed over 1,000 victims. It cited more than 300 gigabytes of recovered material, including 10,000-plus digital images involving minors. The DOJ says the material is sealed and will not be released to protect victims. Bongino signed off on the review. So did FBI Director Kash Patel. But the altered footage and Bondi’s reversal fractured internal trust and triggered what sources call an ongoing standoff.

Alan Dershowitz, previously accused by one of Epstein’s victims but later cleared through settlement, says he has seen sealed documents containing names of high-profile individuals. He claims those files are being deliberately withheld to protect elites. He says he is bound by court orders, but insists suppression is happening inside DOJ.

Instead, it amplified every lingering doubt. The missing minute is more than a timestamp glitch.
