George Santos Announces White House Correspondents’ Dinner Pregame Celebration as He Joins FOX’s Special Forces Cast

Former Congressman George Santos is stepping back into the spotlight with two major announcements—hosting a pre-White House Correspondents’ Dinner celebration featuring alternative media voices and revealing that he is joining the cast of FOX’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 5.

Santos announced this week that he will host a pregame event ahead of the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD), saying the gathering will celebrate independent journalism, alternative media, and what he called the “unbreakable American spirit.”

“In preparation for the WHCD I am hosting a pregame event to get people ready for the big night,” Santos wrote. “As we all remember the tragic and unfortunate events surrounding the original date of the event. Now it’s time to celebrate the resilience of the evening and the President who said the show must go on.”

According to Santos, the event will bring together “alternative media personalities, influencers and citizen journalists” alongside government officials and elected leaders.

“I will be bringing together alternative media personalities, influencers and citizen journalists along with government officials and elected officials to celebrate the free press and the unbreakable American spirit,” he added.

The announcement comes as alternative media outlets continue gaining influence in Washington, often challenging the legacy corporate press that has long dominated events such as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

From Politics to Reality Television

Santos also revealed Wednesday that he is officially joining the cast of FOX’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” Season 5, which premieres September 24.

Sharing the news on X, Santos described the experience as life-changing.

“You guys I did a thing and I’m excited to share it with y’all! This experience changed my perspective in life and it was the most humbling thing I’ve ever done! Thank you @FOX for the awesome experience with the cast and crew from @SpecialForces.”

He followed up with another post, adding:

“I took my fat behind off the couch and tried something new! And it changed EVERYTHING! I can’t wait to share this experience with y’all!”

FOX announced Wednesday that Santos will be among the 15 celebrity contestants competing in military-style endurance challenges set in the jungles of Malaysia. The season will feature actors, athletes, reality television personalities, and social media figures undergoing demanding physical and mental tests under the supervision of former special forces operators.
