Edelman’s Deep State Ties to DEY

DEY founder Rimjhim Dey passed through Edelman, PwC and Accenture before building a PR shop for MIRI’s AI-alignment campaign, the UN, global foundations and Israeli historian Yuval Noah Harari.

If I was going to set up a CIA adjacent PR firm worthy of Edward Lansdale it would look exactly like DEY.

DEY. Ideas + Influence is a small Brooklyn-based boutique PR, communications, and advisory firm founded by Rimjhim Dey. It positions itself as a “thinking person’s” agency that focuses on long-term influence, narrative-shaping, and idea-driven campaigns rather than high-volume media hits.

It works with organizations, philanthropies, academics, scientists, and nonfiction authors on topics including AI, climate, global health, economics, philanthropy, and policy. The firm is small (roughly 10 employees) and selective. It handles media relations, executive positioning, op-eds, speaking opportunities, content strategy, and book publicity. Clients have appeared in outlets like the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Economist, Financial Times, NPR, and others. You know all the ‘media’ known to be CIA mockingbird partners.

Rimjhim Dey, Founder and CEO: Previously at Accenture, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Edelman. She is a Council on Foreign Relations member and has been recognized on lists such as Inc.

Female Founders 500 and various PR industry awards. PWC is a known CIA accomplice and Edelman has come up often by association, Daniel Edelman was born to a Jewish family and graduated from Columbia College in 1940, then earned a master’s degree in journalism in 1941 from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Keep in mind that Columbia teaching, journalism were targeted for primary infiltration via Fabians approx 20 yrs before he attended. Oh, and no worries about Edelman or its intelligence ties…Dan the man Edelman served in a US Army psychological warfare unit during WW2, then hangs out as a nightly news reporter at CBS which was part of CIA mockingbird network and then opens Edelman which works with all the folks that control the CIA and their operations along with launders money for them.

NO BIG DEAL folks, move along. His son (Dan) runs the company and dad set him up on the normal track: Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard, etc. Dan divorced his wife to marry a hot Mexican chick that just so happens to be the Chief of Communications for the Secretary General of the United Nations and ran global advocacy for UNICEF, as well as worked in public relations and marketing for other international organizations, such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations Refugee Agency and The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Again, no big deal.

Kavita Tomlinson, SVP Strategy + Media Relations: Previously held senior roles at Edelman managing Fortune 500 accounts.

Taylor Scott, SVP Client Services: Background includes Chief of Staff/Communications at Rhode Island School of Design and advisory work with Qatar Museums.

Andrew DeSio, VP Literary: Spent 17 years as Director of Publicity at Princeton University Press, handling campaigns for books by Shoshana Zuboff, Robert Shiller, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and others.

Danielle Bastow, COO: Previously VP of Operations at Fenton, a social-change communications agency.

Other current or recent staff mentioned in firm materials and posts include Nick Augustine (previously at BerlinRosen and as a journalist), Annie Tressler, Jonathan Pace, and Sydney Dobkin.

Organizational clients include the United Nations, Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations, World Bank, Stanford Medicine, Stanford HAI, Global Fund, Atlantic Council, Environmental Defense Fund, Wellcome Trust, Harvard Business School, MIT, and MIRI.

Individual/author clients or those the firm has publicized include Yuval Noah Harari, Nobel economists Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee, Fei-Fei Li, Eric Topol, Vivek Murthy, Eliezer Yudkowsky, Nita Farahany, and Nathan Thrall.

The firm’s most discussed recent association is with the AI safety/”doomer” community. It represents or advises Eliezer Yudkowsky (MIRI co-founder and co-author of If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies), MIRI, Timnit Gebru, and Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute. In the original post below, Coxon after his viral warnings about AI existential risk; MIRI’s Nate Soares later said he asked the firm to assist. Critics in tech and accelerationist circles framed this as coordinated messaging around AI regulation debates.

Philanthropic networks: Work with Gates, Rockefeller, Ford, and Open Society Foundations places the firm in CIA circles frequently criticized (especially from the right) for political influence on criminal justice, elections, climate, and other issues.

Israel-Palestine: The firm publicized Nathan Thrall’s Pulitzer-winning 2023 book A Day in the Life of Abed Salama, which uses a 2012 West Bank bus crash to examine Palestinian life under Israeli occupation. The book and related events became contentious after October 7, 2023, with some events canceled.

Staff backgrounds: Connections to Edelman (a large firm with a wide and sometimes controversial client history), BerlinRosen (a Democratic/progressive political communications firm that has worked on Soros-linked prosecutor campaigns), and Fenton add to the left-of-center and CIA institutional profile.

DEY operates as a group hatched out of Edelman for plausible deniability to handle more controversial project and not be associated with the host.
