The D.C. police have released bodycam footage of the incident involving Justin Robinson, a Violence Interrupter, who was shot and killed by officers. The incident occurred at a McDonald’s on Marion Barry Avenue after Robinson crashed his car and was found unconscious with a firearm in his lap.
According to the police, Robinson began to wake up and reached for an officer’s gun, prompting the officers to open fire. The footage was released following community and family demands for transparency.
