Crypto Com, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced that it will delist Tether (USDT) on January 31, 2025. This decision follows the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) directive, which mandates that non-compliant stablecoins must be restricted or delisted by this deadline.
According to the ESMA directive issued on January 17, 2025, crypto asset service providers must address non-compliant stablecoins by the specified date. Tether’s USDT, lacking the necessary MiCA authorization, has come under scrutiny as a result of these new regulations.
