The left-wing media was fully stocked with hard-left guests to counter Trump’s speech on Thursday night.
CBS News 24/7 aired a “Special Report” anchored by Tony Dokoupil. Guests included Major Garrett, Margaret Brennan (Face the Nation), David Becker (CEIR), Michael Sobolik (Hudson Institute), and Senator Mark Warner (D). This was a full-throated effort to misdirect people.
They try to convince viewers that the information on 220 million voters obtained by China is nothing more than publicly available voter rolls. They repeatedly claimed “you can buy this voter data.”
Senator Warner claimed he heard “No” new information in President Trump’s speech. If that’s the case, his role as Vice Chairman on the Select Committee on Intelligence proves he is also responsible for hiding national security election information from Congress and the President.
We should note that David Becker had to resign in disgrace from the ERIC board in 2023 due to his partisan activities and undisclosed access to unredacted voter data being provided by almost 30 States.
CBS Dokoupil (27:35): If China has this information, how significant is that to people at home
Becker: Yeah, it sounds bad when you hear about it, that voter data is available to China. But the reality is voter files in the United States are public.
The sketchy guest made specific claims that “nothing can be done with that (China) information.” John Solomon, one of the patriotic people reviewing the original documents, has insisted that China’s voter info can change voter registrations. Worse yet, the CCP could create a new registration in other States, and vote on that person’s behalf.
Becker (28:32): There’s nothing anyone can actually do with that information. It’s not like you can affect a voter with that information. It’s not like you could change their voter registration with this public data.
Becker: It’s kind of like, I might have the entire class list for a college or University. But that doesn’t mean I can go in and change the grades. And that’s what’s happening here.
He’s the problem. No one but the left is claiming China obtained publicly available voter roll data. If you were a Chinese hacker who gained access to a state’s internal election servers, would you grab the Excel file of public voter rolls or the completely unredacted voter data files?
Let’s clarify the difference. The publicly available lists are scrubbed by election jurisdictions to hide key info and credentials. These lists are often called Qualified Voter Files (QVF). They include name, address, if you voted, party affiliation, precinct info, registration date, and other basic information. These redacted lists are used by political campaigns for marketing purposes.
The unredacted information is what China is being accused of hacking and obtaining. It’s also what left-wing states have refused to turn over to the DOJ. This info contains the full Social Security number, DOB, phone, email, citizen verification, Driver’s License number, and more.
A hacker might also grab the administrative notes, internal processing codes, audit information, and metadata for each voter.
TGP is trying to confirm if the China hacks also included the image of the voter’s signature. This signature on file with the State is used to verify that the signature on an absentee ballot envelope is a match.
Senator Mark Warner then joined the show. His demeanor raises huge questions about his motivation. Why is he so vehemently opposed to the release of this info? Why so forceful that all journalists call Trump claims falsehoods and lies?
CBS Dokoupil (45:46): Senator Warner did you hear anything that, to your ears, that was new tonight (Trump’s speech).
Senator Warner: No
Warner: And a matter of fact…I was embarrassed that the President of the United States went before a whole country, and networks like yours carried this as news, as opposed to a rehash of falsehoods. And it’s incumbent upon you and any responsible journalist to push back on these falsehoods.
Dokoupil: Senator, Senator, if I may, If I may on that point.
Warner: If we don’t call into question these falsehoods. This President is trying – he’s going to lose a free and fair election. And unless responsible journalists and the American people step up and say, our system which has stood the test of time, is not going to be undermined by these type of falsehoods.
Dokoupil: What I wanted to interject is you are calling for context and analysis, and pushback. You are on the show right now giving it and acting as though it’s not happening. I just want to underscore, the reason you are on is because we agree, you and I, that this is a vitally, vitally important topic.

One last thing. TGP reported that 19,800 fake driver’s licenses were confiscated at Chicago O’Hare International Airport in 2020 by CBP. Officials claimed the CCP manufactured and shipped them to the US to help individuals cast fraudulent ballots for Biden. The barcodes on the Michigan licenses actually worked. This also happened in 2019, in Louisville.
On another major network, they now claim: “These licenses were created to help Chinese people get into bars.” They want you to believe that Chinese people residing in the United States need help getting drunk. This is preposterous, but it shows the level of misdirection they are willing to commit.
