Captive and clueless: Dr Monique Ryan applauds Albo signing on to UN climate baloney

“Great to see Australia signing overnight to a landmark UN ruling establishing our government’s legal duty to protect Australians from the escalating global climate crisis,” says a post on X by the ditzy Melbourne doctor Monique Ryan MP, a captive of climate hysteria.

“If we’re getting serious about climate change, we should stop sacking the CSIRO scientists who measure it, stop subsidising big mining companies’ use of fossil fuels through the diesel fuel rebate, and stop approving the new oil and gas projects which are now clearly against international law.

“We need actions, not gestures, to protect the next generation from climate change.” Yeah right, doctor. You really did come down with the last shower, didn’t you.

The furious response should be taken on board by this Teal masquerading as an independent in the Federal House of Representatives.

“AB” posted: “Monique, spare us the grift. A non-binding UN opinion isn’t ‘international law’, it’s performative bullshit. Australia’s 1% emissions won’t matter while China fires up more coal plants.

“Diesel rebates aren’t evil, gas exports beat coal, and sacking CSIRO activists isn’t denial. Your virtue-signaling just screws Aussie jobs and bills for zero gain. Climate changes. Hysterical self-harm doesn’t.”

The Crazz Files was a little more blunt: “Piss off you bludging grifter and take your climate alarmism with you.”

The anger is well deserved. That a federal MP wants to make new oil and gas projects illegal because we support an International Court of Justice ruling that found countries can he held legally responsible for their greenhouse gas emissions, shows she is delusional. Not even Albo would dare do that.

Australia was one of 140 countries that voted in support of the ruling while 28 abstained and eight voted against it – Belarus, Iran, Israel, Liberia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Yemen.

Equally delusional was the response of Climate Council Fellow Wesley Morgan, who called the vote a “massive victory for Vanuatu and the Pacific leaders” but said Australia had to back its vote in the UN by phasing out approvals for new coal and gas projects.

“As the world’s third-largest fossil fuel exporter, Australia can no longer ignore the catastrophic impacts our coal and gas exports are causing globally,” he said. Really Mr Morgan, our gas an coal exports are causing catastrophes? Would you like to provide evidence of that?

If the ICJ is stupid enough to try and prosecute a country over rising emissions, then it’s obvious who has the most coal-fired power stations and is still building them. China had 1140 stations a few years ago. Australia has 18. So go ahead ICJ, prosecute President Xi Jinping and the CCP for “creating greenhouse gas emissions that create catastrophes”.

Xi will politely decline and privately, he and the CCP will be laughing. They will also point out, tongue in cheek, that they are furiously manufacturing solar panels and wind turbines for the West, so they can transition into renewable energy systems, aka deindustrialisation, and save the planet.
