They lifted off before most of the country had coffee. Two flights of B-2 stealth bombers rose from Whiteman Air Force Base. Eight KC-135 tankers followed close behind. Flight paths tracked over the Pacific. Not routine. Not symbolic. A deployment measured in megatons and flight hours.
Callsigns MYTEE 11 and MYTEE 21 are already familiar to those watching long-range strike exercises. When paired with eight refueling aircraft, the mission profile changes. That much gas in the air means extended range. The probable destinations are either Andersen Air Force Base in Guam or Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Guam allows presence. Diego implies intent.
KC-46As HIFI81 & HIFI82 now clearly tanking B-2s out over the ocean, while HIFI83 & HIFI84 do the same ~75km behind them. The first two tankers will shortly disappear from @flightradar24 as they go out of range of sensors. After this our next refuel will be Hawaii later today. pic.twitter.com/XIAhWtYezr

The last time B-2 bombers were paired with this level of aerial support, they were en route to the Middle East post 9/11. The playbook included 44-hour missions, global reach, and pinpoint strikes. The same assets are now repositioning. The GBU-57 bunker buster only fits one platform. That platform is airborne right now.
Iran just launched missiles. Israel is absorbing fire while pushing back. U.S. Navy destroyers moved to the Eastern Med last week. Now the stealth strike assets are airborne. The Pentagon has not confirmed their purpose. It does not need to.
The infrastructure at Diego Garcia can handle stealth bombers. Hardened shelters were built for this purpose. Satellite imagery from earlier this year confirmed renovations and fuel supply upgrades at both Diego Garcia and Guam. Quiet investments signal preparation. The launch from Missouri was the activation.
KC-135s are not deployed for looks. They exist to extend missions or bring aircraft home. The number matters. Two bombers with eight tankers signals a flexible loadout. Targets can be hit from multiple vectors. Routes can be changed midair. Strike packages can evolve based on timing and intel.
There are no press briefings on this movement. No statements. Just exhaust trails and open air corridors. The B-2 was designed for one job — delivering hard payloads through dense air defenses. Its radar signature is measured in inches. Its range, with midair refueling, wraps the globe. Two B-2s in the air with tanker support means preparation for direct engagement if policy allows it.
