The small boats invasion is getting bigger and bigger.
In the last couple of weeks, the attention of the world was focused on the migrant invasion of the Spanish African enclave of Ceuta, where around 70,000 Moroccans and Algerians breached the border in a single day.
This led to a planetary reaction, and turned socialist prime minister Pedro Sánchez into an international pariah.
But up on the English Channel, a slower but unrelenting tragedy is unfolding, day in, day out.
In inflatable rubber boats, the migrants come from French beaches, where the authorities are unwilling or incapable of stopping the flow – even though London is paying Paris billions for help with this issue.
Today (10), a new record has been set, and not a good one.

The Telegraph reported:
“A mega-dinghy carrying 230 migrants has crossed the Channel, setting a new record for the number of arrivals in Britain on a single small boat.
The inflatable vessel, which left France on Sunday night, was intercepted by Border Force, HM Coastguard and the RNLI, and taken to Dover in the early hours of Monday.”

“Last week, people-smugglers [a.k.a. human traffickers] packed 173 people onto a boat attempting to cross the Channel, but they were returned to France after its engine caught fire.
[…] People-smugglers have been increasing the number of migrants crammed into boats, a tactic the Government has condemned as ‘reckless and dangerous’.”
“Yes, we have managed to stop some of the dinghies. But it doesn’t stop the problem.”

People-smuggling gangs have slashed the price of small-boat crossings to Britain by at least €200, offering Channel crossings for as little as €600 per person, as they seek to profit from the recent migrant crisis in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
