DOJ investigates $20 billion secretly funneled to nonprofits as Biden administration exits power – Citizen Watch Report

The Department of Justice has launched an investigation into the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, a massive $27 billion program pushed through under the Biden administration. At the center of the probe is a stunning revelation—$20 billion of those taxpayer dollars were funneled into just eight nonprofit groups, many with direct ties to Obama and Biden officials, right after Kamala Harris lost the election. The timing, the structure, and the sheer scale of the payout raise serious questions about whether this was a legitimate climate initiative or a carefully orchestrated slush fund.

There was no competitive bidding process. There was no oversight. The money was simply pushed into Citibank accounts, with no repayment requirements, no clear restrictions, and no transparency. Some of the groups receiving these grants had barely existed for a few months before being handed billions. How is this not a coordinated financial operation to entrench Democratic interests before leaving office?

Trump’s newly appointed EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, is now working to retrieve these funds, but the contracts contain a clever safeguard—a trigger clause that automatically releases the money if the new administration tries to intervene. In other words, this was set up so that once the money moved, it couldn’t be touched, no matter what the next administration did. This wasn’t an accident. It was a calculated move to secure billions for political allies before power changed hands.

Even government watchdogs, who normally avoid making strong accusations, are calling this what it is—a slush fund. The fact that so much taxpayer money was moved in secret, with no real accountability, makes it impossible to ignore the obvious.

Now, with the DOJ finally taking a closer look, the big question remains: Will anyone be held accountable? Biden’s team locked this scheme into place before leaving office, and even if Zeldin fights to reclaim the money, it’s an uphill battle. This is a test of whether Washington corruption is too deeply entrenched to undo—even when it’s caught in broad daylight.
