Peter Dutton … scared of upsetting the delicate Teal types who might not vote for the Liberal Party.

OPPOSITION Leader Peter Dutton has reaffirmed his commitment to the Paris Climate Accord, vowing to reach “Net Zero by 2050” and to honour the agreement if he wins in the upcoming federal election.

This is Dutton playing typically centrist, limp-wristed Liberal Party politics: Keep the green-leaning Left rump of the party happy by staying with the neo-Marxist global wealth redistribution scheme aka the Paris Climate Accord.

There are some Liberals and certainly Nationals like Matt Canavan who would not hesitate to join with Trump in leaving the Paris Accord, but not Peter and his politically-sensitive backroom boys.

One Nation’s Senator Malcolm Roberts posted on X saying “Dutton confirms there is no hope for the Liberal Party. He is still 100% committed to the Paris Agreement and #NetZero madness.

“This is the Uni-Party in full effect. One Nation is the only party you can trust to stand against the foreign predators and say no to Net-Zero.”

According to the Institute for Public Affairs, Dutton plans to meet the net zero targets by going nuclear. Dutton proposes building a very expensive series of reactors on the sites of the “obsolete” coal-fired power stations.

The Paris Accord is a monstrous wealth redistribution fraud based on a form of fake money called “carbon credits”. It is also part of the WEF-UN global governance strategy.

Australia could probably benefit from one or two nuclear power stations to complement the coal-fired stations. They might also save the country from becoming energy-deficient and economically crippled by having to rely on an unreliable, expensive and scattered network of wind, solar, hydro and batteries.

If Dutton’s backroom boys had a brain, they would seize the opportunity by following Trump’s example and pull the rug from under the anti-human, anti-productive net zero/green/sustainable scam and provide a commonsense mixture of coal, nuclear and gas-driven electricity supply system backed up by wind, solar and hydro.

They could also kick start the Australian economy by getting rid of the onerous raft of ludicrious “anti-carbon” green regulations imposed upon every farm, industry and business. The net effect of this is to keep the hordes of green bureaucrats and consultants at all levels of government in jobs while driving up business costs.

The expensive renewables scam needs to stop now because it is sending the country broke with its thousands of kilometres of connector lines and batteries that will supposedly replace the coal-fired power stations. It’s a silly, misguided dream that is making “clean energy” businesses rich while driving up Australians’ power bills.

The starry-eyed Teals, Greens and others from the Liberal-Labor Uniparty will tell you that renewables provided up to 85% of the electricity supply on such and such a date. Oh sure, in South Australia on a breezy, sunny day they will achieve that sort of figure, or Tasmania with its almost entirely hydro supply.

But visit the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) website and the National Electricity Market dashboard on any day and you’ll see that coal still provides the bulk of the national energy supply.

For instance on Saturday, January 25th, at 8.15am (AEDST) black and brown coal were supplying 57% of the national supply and gas 2%. Being a largely sunny morning, solar was supplying 26%, wind 11% and hydro 3% – for a total “renewables” supply of 40%.

By 8.45am solar crept up to 32%, and wind fell off to 10%. Coal-fired supply dropped off to 53%. By midday solar was supplying 35% while wind dropped off to a measly 4%. This is the fickle nature of so-called renewables. Coal was still chugging along all day around 55% of supply.

“Oh look, 40% of our electricity supply is coming from free, clean wind and sunshine,” the starry-eyed greenies will tell you. “No Sunshine, it’s 40% of supply while the sun is shining and the wind is blowing,” we must inform them.

“When you and millions of other Aussies go home at the end of the day to plug in your EV and other digital devices, the coal-fired electricity kicks in. We’re sure you’ve noticed that the sun goes down every day and the wind often dies off in the evening, because that’s what they do.

“Also Sunshine, it’s not free. We all pay the whacking subsidies that Canberra pays to the wind turbine companies to erect those monstrosities and we also pay for the very expensive line network to connect up that scattered network of wind and solar farm locations and to maintain them.”

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson said Dutton “has let Australians down by caving in to the climate agenda. Staying in the Paris Agreement means higher power prices and less reliable energy. A government that remains tied to this agreement cannot deliver the cheap, reliable energy our country needs.

“One Nation would pull Australia out of the Paris Agreement immediately. We would prioritize coal and gas to lower power bills and provide the relief Australians are desperate for. It’s time to put everyday Australians first.

“Only One Nation has the courage to stand up to the climate elites and put Australia back on the path to energy security and affordability. With you support we can make it happen.”
